On April 23, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a temporary exhibition and an educational session titled “The Secret of Kazakh Wooden Tableware.” The event aimed to popularize wooden utensils preserved in the museum’s collection and featured a unique display of traditional wooden items. The exhibition presented various types of spoons and ladles (ozhau), bowls (tostagan), mugs (saptyayaq), cup holders (kesekap), mortars for crushing sugar, vessels for pouring kumys and shubat (tegene), churn barrels with pestles, grain-grinding tools (keli and kelsap), and large wooden dishes — astau and tabak of different kinds. In total, more than 30 exhibits were showcased.
