The District Museum named after the national batyr Isatay Taimanuly was officially opened on September 21, 1991, in connection with the nationwide celebration of the 200th anniversary of his birth.
The museum building covers an area of 115.9 square meters, of which 94.4 square meters are exhibition space.
The museum presents the history and culture of the Isatay District, its literature and art, and the life and labor of war and labor veterans. The exhibition is arranged in four halls: “History of the Region,” “History of the District,” “Honored People of the District,” and “Ethnography, Archaeology, and Nature of the Region.”
The museum’s collection, which initially included 412 items along with archival documents and valuable exhibits, today comprises 6,051 artifacts.
