Exhibition Hall “Culture and Literature of the Region”

This hall presents information about prominent figures of literature and art from the Atyrau region.

Visitors are introduced to personal belongings and materials about local figures who made invaluable contributions to the development of Kazakh prose and poetry: Abu Sarsenbayev, Gabdolla Slanov, Khamit Yergaliev, Fariza Ongarsynova, Zhumeken Nazhimedenov, Satimzhan Sanbayev, Zeynolla Kabdolov, Mendekesh Satybaldiev, as well as masters of drama, theater, and cinema — Nurmukhan Zhanturin, Mukhtar Baktygereev, Berkair Amanshin, Berik Korkytov, and Kuat Tlekov.

Also presented is information about Doctor of Philology and founder of Kazakh journalism Tauman Amandosov; dombrist Rysbai Gabdiev; renowned artists Seilkhan Kusainov, Raushan Nurpeisova, Aitkali Zhaiymov, and Orak Zhaurov.

At the center of the hall stand images of the father of Kazakh kui, Kurmangazy Sagyrbayev, and the virtuoso Dina Nurpeisova. The exhibition also features part of the museum’s collection — about 70 dombras.

Visitors can view and closely acquaint themselves with the personal dombras of such masters as the great kuishi Dina Nurpeisova; People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR Zhusipbek Elebek; Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR Garifolla Kurmangaliyev; laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karshyga Akhmediyarov; writer, playwright, and first laureate of the Makhambet Prize Berkair Amanshin; artist Azidolla Eskaliyev; People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, singer and composer Altynbek Korabayev; Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Bekbolat Tleukhanov; kuishi-composer Shamil Abiltaev; popularizer of Kazakh kui Sagyn Zhalmyshev; aitys performer Amanzhol Altaev; Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Nariman Ulkenbaev, and many others.
