Temporary Exhibition “THE ROLE OF RADIO”

On October 3, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a temporary exhibition titled “THE ROLE OF RADIO,” dedicated to Radio Day — October 1. The purpose of the exhibition was to trace the history of radio development from its invention to modern digital technologies — a field where science and technology intersect with art and culture.

Temporary Exhibition “Doctor — A Symbol of Hope and Trust”

On June 12, 2025, in honor of Medical Worker’s Day, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore opened a temporary exhibition titled “Doctor — A Symbol of Hope and Trust.” The purpose of the exhibition was to pay tribute to the noble individuals in white coats who have devoted their lives to saving others and to preserve the memory of their names in the minds of the younger generation. A total of 194 museum exhibits were presented to visitors, illustrating the lives and professional achievements of over 30 doctors who made significant contributions to the development of healthcare in the region.

Exhibition “The Yellowed Letters Speak”

On May 5, 2025, in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore opened a temporary exhibition titled “The Yellowed Letters Speak.” The purpose of the exhibition was to convey the hardships, courage, and hope of wartime through soldiers’ letters, and to remind visitors of the enduring value of peace.

On April 23, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a temporary exhibition and an educational session titled “The Secret of Kazakh Wooden Tableware.” The event aimed to popularize wooden utensils preserved in the museum’s collection and featured a unique display of traditional wooden items. The exhibition presented various types of spoons and ladles (ozhau), bowls (tostagan), mugs (saptyayaq), cup holders (kesekap), mortars for crushing sugar, vessels for pouring kumys and shubat (tegene), churn barrels with pestles, grain-grinding tools (keli and kelsap), and large wooden dishes — astau and tabak of different kinds. In total, more than 30 exhibits were showcased.

Temporary Exhibition “Results of Medieval Research in the Atyrau Region”

On April 18, 2025, in celebration of the International Day for Monuments and Sites, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted the opening of the temporary exhibition “Results of Medieval Research in the Atyrau Region.” The event also included a photo exhibition of historical and cultural monuments of Atyrau Region and the presentation of an interactive map of the region’s historical and cultural heritage.

Exhibition “Conquerors of the Earth’s Depths”

On April 9, 2025, the museum opened a temporary exhibition titled “Conquerors of the Earth’s Depths.” The exhibition aimed to spark interest in geological science, highlight its role in the development of humanity, and emphasize the importance of studying the Earth’s natural resources. The ceremonial opening was attended by students of Safi Utebayev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas, as well as pupils and teachers from K. Satpayev Secondary School and School-Gymnasium No. 19. The exhibition featured valuable exhibits and documents from the museum’s collection illustrating the lives and contributions of prominent geologists who played a significant role in the history of Kazakhstan.

On March 18, 2025, as part of the Nauryz celebration decade and in honor of the Day of National Costume, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore organized a temporary exhibition titled “National Clothing — Reflection of the People’s Soul.” The exhibition aimed to honor and popularize national clothing — a priceless heritage that reflects the centuries-old history, cultural identity, and spiritual essence of the Kazakh people. More than 30 examples of traditional attire from the museum’s collection were displayed. National costume is one of the most expressive symbols of a people’s uniqueness. Kazakh clothing is distinguished by its refined beauty, distinct methods of craftsmanship, rich ornamentation, and deep symbolic meaning.

Exhibition “Chance Finds”

On February 27, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore opened an exhibition titled “Chance Finds.”The display was composed of artifacts uncovered during archaeological surveys and monitoring works carried out in 2024 in the Inder and Kyzylkoga districts of Atyrau Region.

Traveling Exhibition “Parasat biigindegi tulga”

On February 10, 2025, at the Makhambet Atyrau Academic Kazakh Drama Theatre, a traveling exhibition from the museum’s collection was organized as part of the memorial event “Parasat biigindegi tulga”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of prominent statesman and public figure, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, and Honored Citizen of Atyrau Region — Onaybai Kushekovich Kushekov.

Exhibition “The Gold of the Sarmatians”

On January 27, 2025, with the support of the Akimat of Atyrau Region, the Department of Culture and Languages Development of Atyrau Region, and the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, a one-day exhibition titled “The Gold of the Sarmatians” was held to present the results of archaeological research conducted in 2023–2024. The event was attended by representatives of the intelligentsia and the mass media.

A traveling exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary cultural figure Oryngali Musayevich Karasaev

On November 23, 2024, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore organized an exhibition as part of a commemorative event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the esteemed figure of the Atyrau region — statesman and public figure, veteran of the Great Patriotic War and of labor, Honorary Citizen of Atyrau Region, and cultural figure Oryngali Musayevich Karasaev.

Exhibition Dedicated to the Day of the National Currency from the Museum Collection “Tenge tol tarihy” featuring various types of the national currency that were in circulation in different years.

On November 14, 2023, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore organized a temporary exhibition “Tenge — Our Own History” dedicated to the Day of the National Currency. The exhibition showcased various types of the national currency, the tenge, which had been in circulation over different years, as well as a collection of paper and small change coins from the 18th–20th centuries of different countries.

A temporary exhibition from the museum collection “Balygy taidai tulagan olke”

On June 8, 2024, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore organized a temporary exhibition from the museum’s collection entitled “Balygy taidai tulagan olke”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the founding of the fish cannery.

Traveling Exhibition «Khoja Akhmet Yassawi and the Ancestral Turkestan»

On October 18, 2024, a ceremony was held to open the traveling exhibition "Khoja Akhmet Yassawi and the Ancestral Turkestan" at the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.

Traveling exhibition «The Golden Leader of Taskopa»

On November 20, 2024, the traveling exhibition "The Golden Leader of Taskopa" was opened at the Aktobe Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, organized by the Department of Culture, Archives, and Documentation of the Aktobe Region.

A traveling exhibition of the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore in the ethno-village "World of nomads", organized within the framework of the "Caravan of Unity" project at the V World Nomad Games held in Astana

At the “Ethnoaul” as part of the V World Nomad Games, held in Astana from September 8 to 13, 2024, a traveling exhibition of archaeological and ethnographic collections from the Atyrau Regional History and Local Lore Museum was organized.

Exhibition «Dombyra-Dastan»

On October 23, 2024, in the Kyzylorda region, Kyzylorda Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, on October 25 - Republic Day, in the art gallery named after S. Aitbayev, a traveling exhibition "Dombyra-Dastan" was opened, organized by the Department of Culture and Languages Development of the Atyrau Region and the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.

Traveling exhibition "Jewels of the Great Steppe"

From October 8 to November 23, the Department of Culture and Languages Development of the Atyrau Region and the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore organized a traveling exhibition “Jewels of the Great Steppe” for residents of the districts in order to popularize archaeological values.

Exhibition "The Sultan of Poetry - Fariza"

On November 21, 2024, a literary and musical evening was held in honor of the 85th anniversary of the birth of Fariza Ongarsynova, the People’s Writer of Kazakhstan, public and state figure, and laureate of the State Prize. During the event, the exhibition "The Queen of Poetry - Fariza" was organized.

Exhibition "Karachungul - the first oil field in Kazakhstan"

To mark the 125th anniversary of the eruption of the first oil fountain in Kazakhstan, the museum opened a temporary exhibition, “Karashungul – the first oil field in Kazakhstan.”
