A meeting of the selection committee of the museum fund for the third quarter of 2023 was held at the Atyrau regional local history museum. At the meeting of the commission, objects of museum significance from the Zhylyoi, Kyzylkoga, Inder districtswere accepted into the museum fund. They were presented as a result of the ethno-expedition organized according to this year’s plan. Alsodocuments and materials brought to the museum from private individuals were received into the fund. The museum's fund also acceptedsilver and copper coins which found at the site of the medieval town Saraychik during archaeological excavations in 2022.
On September 5, 2023, a temporary exhibition was held at the Atyrau regional local history museum dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the honorary citizen of the Atyrau region and the city of Atyrau, academician, doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences, professor Muftah Diaruly.
According to reports of the meeting on the topic “Development plan of the Museum-Reserve “Saraichik” and the Issues of the medieval town of Saraychik” chaired by Akim of Atyrau region S. Shapkenov which held on August 11, 2023, Atyrau regional local history museum was instructed to organize archaeological excavations on the territory of the medieval town of Saraychik.
On 29th of August, 2023 a meeting was held with the descendants of Nugyman Manayev at the Atyrau regional local history museum, intended to honor the memory of the statesman and public figure and popularize him among the people, especially among the youth.
According to the annual plan, from August 21 to September 29 employees of the Atyrau regional local history museum completed excavations of the Karakudyk-1 and Karadukyk-2 mounds in Kyzylkoga district and valuable finds were discovered.
Today, on August 10, on the occasion of the Day of Abai, a solemn event called «Abai Ulttyn Ainasy» was held on the square near the monument to Abai.
On the eve of this professional holiday, the Atyrau Regional Museum of Local History was visited by a doctor of Cambridge University, a researcher at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research Rebecca Roberts and PhD student in the Department of Archeology at the University of Cambridge Saltanat Amir.
On July 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., the Sheber-Fest master class was held at the Atyrau Regional Museum of Local History among masters who revive crafts left over from their ancestors.
