According to reports of the meeting on the topic “Development plan of the Museum-Reserve “Saraichik” and the Issues of the medieval town of Saraychik” chaired by Akim of Atyrau region S. Shapkenov which held on August 11, 2023, Atyrau regional local history museum was instructed to organize archaeological excavations on the territory of the medieval town of Saraychik.

In this regard, an expedition created by Atyrau regional local history museum began to excavate there from September 4.

During the excavations were found the walls of medieval houses, tandoor ovens, various types of ceramic dishes, types of bone products, medieval coins and bronze mirrors.
