Today, on August 10, on the occasion of the Day of Abai, a solemn event called «Abai Ulttyn Ainasy» was held on the square near the monument to Abai.

As part of the event, a traveling exhibition was organized from the scientific fund of the Atyrau Regional Museum of Local History.

This exhibition presents a copy of the three-stringed dombra and a copy of the board for playing togyz kumalak, which Abay Kunanbayuly personally used, as well as the original book of M. Auezov's novel «Abai», written in 1949 in Arabic script and sets of wooden, leather utensils, types of horse harness which the visitors watched with great interest.
