With support of the Akimat of Atyrau region, the department of culture, archives and documentation of Atyrau region, the Atyrau regional local history museum organized a republican scientific and practical conference on the topic “History and culture of Atyrau in the XIX-XXcenturies”, dedicated to the great Kazakh composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly.
The conference was organized with the aim of disclosing broadly the life and creative heritage of the great Kazakh composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly, as well as historical, ethnographic and archaeological research of the region, the history of the singing tradition of the western region in the XIX-XXcenturies.
An exhibition on the theme “History and culture of Atyrau in the XIX-XXcenturies” was organized for the guests of the conference, where they could see exhibits and research related to the life and work of the great composer, photographs of his descendants, works of local artists, as well as a collection of dombras of famous musicians - dombra players.
The plenary meeting was opened by the Deputy Akim of Atyrau region Zh. Bisembiyev and on behalf of the regional akim he congratulated the participants on the opening of the scientific and practical conference and noted that Kurmangazy’s work will always be noted by the people.
The meeting was moderated by the director of the Atyrau regional local history museum M. Kipiyev, therefore the article “The unknown history of Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly” was presented by Khalidullin Gizatolla - Doctor of historical sciences, professor of the Kazakh national pedagogical university named after Abay. The Honored worker of Kazakhstan, professor of the Kazakh national conservatory named by Kurmangazy Karima Sakharbayeva persentedthe article “The great figure of the Kazakh musical kuy”, Doctor of philology, Academician of the Aitmatov Academy Garifolla Anes presented with the article “Principles of creating a personal encyclopedia “Kurmangazy”. Professor of Atyrau state university named after Kh.Dosmukhamedov Shamgonov Amangeldi presented with the article “Scientific historian Maksot Zholzhanov is a researcher of Kurmangazy”. Scientific literary critic, candidate of philological sciences Maksot Taj-Murat presented with the article “History of the emergence of “Alatau” and “Toremurat” compositions: field topomonic research”.
The conference was also attended by professor of the Caspian state university of technology and engineering named after Sh. Yessenov, doctor of political sciences Zhaulin Kiikbay, who presented with the article “The great composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly in the Mangistau and Zhem regions”. Professor of the Institute of literature and art of the national academy of sciences named after M. Auezov, Head of the department of musicology, candidate of art history Ainur Kaztuganova presented with the article “New research in the study of Kurmangazy’s work (archival heritage)”.
The conference was attended by representatives of the intelligenсe, heads of institutions, teachers of educational institutions, descendants of the composer Kurmangazy and representatives of the mass-media.
