With the support of Akimat of Atyrau region, the department of culture, archives and documentation of Atyrau region, Atyrau regional local history museum organized a republican scientific and practical conference on the topic “Historical figures of Deshti Kipchak: Beybarys and his period”, dedicated to the 800th anniversary of Sultan Beybarys, the founder of the Mamluk state. The main goal of the conference is to study the latest information about Sultan Beybarys, the son of the Kipchak steppe, introduce it into scientific circulation, determine his place in domestic historical science, and also promote widely his legacy among the younger generation.
For the attention of conference guests, an exhibition “Historical figures of Deshti Kipchak: Beybarys and his period” was organized from the fund of the Atyrau regional local history museum. The exhibition presents biographical data of Sultan Beybarys, parts of stones recovered from his tomb, Mamluk guns of the XVII-XVIII centuries, photographic drawings of the Beybarys mosque, madrassah, photographs of the monument of Sultan Beybarys, located on the administrative square of Sultan Beybarys in Atyrau city, etc.
The conference was opened with a speech by Deputy Akim of the region K. Nurtayev, who wishedsuccess to the participants.
