The event "Night at the Museum" was held on May 18 in honor of the International Museum Day by the local history museum of Atyrau region.
The opening ceremony began with a performance by the Sarmat ethno-folklore ensemble, and the speech was given to the deputy head of the Department of Culture, Language Development and Archives A. Bayankyzy.
The head of the museum, M.Kipiev, presented awards to the museum staff and members of the Young Guides Club, which operates throughout the year.
The main news of the event was the "Lady in Silver Jewelry from Miyala" in the "Archaeology" room, found as a result of excavations in the burial mounds of Miyala, which went through reconstruction and anthropological work in 2022 at the research center "Ostrov Krym". The exhibit was found during an expedition of the Local History Museum of Atyrau Region in 2020 during archaeological excavations in mounds 2 km north of the village of Zhankeldi, and 6 km northeast of the village of Miyaly, Kyzylkoginsky district, Atyrau region. Anthropological research was carried out by the famous anthropologist, president of the Magyar-Turan Foundation Andras Zsolt Biro, and reconstructed by the sculptor of the Hungarian Museum Emesh Gabor. According to anthropological studies, it has been established that this exhibit is from the 10th-11th centuries, and its age group is about 50 years old.
The reconstruction was completed in 2022 using the remains of fabrics and decorative overlays found during excavations. The author of the reconstruction is Krym Altynbekov, an international level restorer.
In addition, within the framework of the Night at the Museum program, an exhibition of technical and mechanical products of the late 19th-20th centuries from the museum fund was held.
And also, master potter Talgat Makhuov, artisans Zhanar Karabalina, Elmira Makhmetova gave master classes to the audience.
On the site in front of the museum, national games, tug-of-war competitions, langa, archery were organized, after which there were photographs with historical figures and a festive concert was held. A total of 1,800 people arrived on the night of the museum.
