On October 27-29, Atyrau hosted an international scientific-practical conference "Great Ulhus - Golden Horde", which was attended by well-known scientists and historians from all over the country and abroad. During the three-day meeting, the history of the country, which ruled in the past centuries, was analyzed in detail. Historical data were presented and ways to further glorify the greatness of the Great Nation were considered.
The conference was attended by First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Dauren Abayev, Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov and national researchers and researchers from European, American, Turkish, Japanese, Russian and Ukrainian countries.
Opinions on the history of the Great Ulhus were exchanged, and the discussion of new facts began in the Abay Center. There were 4 consecutive panel meetings.
The first is "Cultural Heritage of the Golden Horde in the historical data”, in which the historians from near and far countries analyzed the peculiarities of the cultural heritage of the Great Horde and argued on size of the Golden Horde territory. Another panel is entitled as "Historical Significance of Archaeological Values". At the meeting, scientists praised the value of historical monuments from the Golden Horde era and explained that the artifacts found during the excavations belong to the Golden Horde. In addition, the results of archeological excavations in the Golden Horde cities and settlements of the Atyrau region, such as Aktobe-Laeti, were made public.
The panel "Features of the folklore of the Great Ulhus era" studied the historical records of the Golden Horde, and the historical roots of the Jochi ulus and Kazakh folklore were confirmed by new data. The fourth panel is entitled "Kassym Khan and Saraishyk: in the history of Kazakh statehood", which shows the status of the medieval city of Saraishyk in the Golden Horde and the peculiarities of the architectural monuments of the ancient city.
As part of the conference, an exhibition entitled "The Great Ulhus- the Golden Horde" was opened in the Palace of Ceremonies. The exhibition presented historical artifacts preserved in the funds of Local History Museum of Atyrau region, i.e., artifacts found during excavations at the sites of Saraishyk, Aktobe-Laeti and Taskeshu caravanserai. In addition, many people saw jewelry, bone and silver ornaments, numismatic and archeological values, found in 1909 in Saraishyk, with an excerpt from a poem by Yusuf Balasagun. In total, 256 exhibits from the museum's collection were presented at the exhibition.
The main plenary session of the international scientific-practical conference "Ulyk Ulhus – Golden Horde" was opened by the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Dauren Abayev and Akim of Atyrau region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov. Deputy Burkitbay Ayagan, Professor of Columbia University, Ph.D. (history) Yulay Shamiloglu, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Madiyar Yeleuov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Abylseit Mukhtar presented to the public information about the deep history of the great nation.
As part of the conference, 315 valuable exhibits of the Local History Museum of Atyrau region were presented in four silver yurts in the ethno-village in Saraishyk village. Among them are two golden men found in Araltobe and Miyaly burial mounds, five weapons of a steppe hero, and various Kazakh jewelry. In addition, a collection of dombras donated by great people of our nation was presented at the exhibition. Museum staff explained to visitors the value and history of the exhibits.
