ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH AT THE AKTOBE-LAETI SETTLEMENT DISCUSSED
Archaeological specialists reviewed the progress of the excavations at the medieval Aktobe-Laeti settlement being conducted by the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.
As part of the fieldwork, Akan Ongar, General Director of the A.Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology under the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Professor Airat Sitdikov, Director of the A.Kh. Khalikov Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, visited the archaeological site to observe the ongoing research.
During the visit, the participants discussed the current results of the excavations and exchanged views on future research at the Aktobe-Laeti settlement, the preservation of its historical and archaeological heritage, and its continued scientific investigation.
This year’s archaeological research is being carried out jointly by specialists from the A.Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology and the A.Kh. Khalikov Institute of Archaeology.
