ABAI’S LEGACY – A NATIONAL TREASURE
To mark Abai Day, celebrated annually on August 10, the literary and musical event “Abai’s Legacy – A National Treasure” was held at the square near the monument to Abai.
As part of the event, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore organized an outreach exhibition featuring items from the museum’s collections. Visitors were presented with a replica of Abai’s protective dombra, a Togyzkumalak game board, a tapestry panel and a bronze sculpture depicting the poet, commemorative anniversary badges, a personal photograph of Abai, as well as his poems published in the newspaper Dala Ualayaty.
The exhibition introduced visitors to the life and work of the great poet and highlighted his rich legacy, which made a significant contribution to Kazakhstan’s national spiritual culture.
