On June 13, 2025, in honor of Father’s Day, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted a meeting evening with family folk craftsmen titled “Art Passed Down Through Generations.” The purpose of the event was to convey to the younger generation the importance and value of national musical instruments — particularly the dombyra, to popularize its sound, and to promote national art.
The event featured the Bisembayev family, renowned masters of dombyra making, who shared their craftsmanship, life experience, and sincere love for art. Bisembayev Turlan Bisenbayevich took part not only as a craftsman but also as a termeshi (folk singer), performing a traditional composition. His son, Nurlybek Bisembayev, founder of the “Nurriza” workshop, emphasized the importance of quality craftsmanship in making national instruments and noted that their workshop produces about 100 dombras each month. His sons Nurtore and Abdulaziz continue the family tradition, mastering the art of dombyra making.The event was also attended by Honored Cultural Figures of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dombyra players Kuttygerey Duiseev and Sharipa Zhamenova, who performed kuis on dombras crafted by Nurlybek Turlanuly. At the conclusion of the meeting, the museum administration expressed gratitude to the guests and presented them with scholarly and collectible books as commemorative gifts.The event was attended by students of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, representatives of regional media, and museum staff.
