On the occasion of National currency day on November 14, 2023, a temporary exhibition entitled “History of Tenge” was organized at the Atyrau regional local history museum. The temporary exhibition presented the national currency tenge, used in different years, as well as banknotes and coins of different countries, used in the XVIII-XX centuries.

The exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the introduction of tenge-the national currency of Kazakhstan,was organized in order to provide information about the history of banknotes issued in different years, as well as to determine the place oftenge in the country’s economy, collection of money and coins used in the XVIII-XX centuries.

The exhibition presented the first tenge in the form of paper money and paper coins with images of famous historical figures.

In addition, the exhibition featured more than 120 exhibits, including banknotes from the times ofRussian empire, USSR money, food stamps and world currencies.
