«Saraichik: history of great city»traveling exhibition from collection of “Khan headquarter is Saraichik” open-air museum and Atyrau local history museum was arranged by the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the RoK for international science conference members in the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 3 April 2017.
It was conducted in order to acquaint international scientific conference members with archeological articles from the holdings of open-air museum “Khan headquarter is Saraichik” and of Atyrau local history museum, which was found while archeological excavation in Saraichik; and for popularization of Saraichik history which was a political and economical center under the Golden Horde and a headquarter of Kazakh khan during the reign of Kassym khan.
On the 10th thematic mount photos, historical documents of medieval city Saraichik presented as well as 273 archeological articles: pectoral, bronze mirror, ovenware, sphere-cone, water wheel, water pipes, lamps, moneybox, spinning wheel, articles made of bone, metallic articles, Saraichik coins, stone articles, high pitcher with a spout, sand rice grain, books, pictures, scientific report about conducted archeological excavation and from covering plate collection of “Covering plate” exhibition.
For the first time ever a khum (ХIV c.)found in Saraichik in 1909 was exhibited from holding of Atyrau local history museum for acquainting to scientific conference members. Its height is 80 cm, bottom diameter is 23 cm. Its external side is engraved with words from “Kutadgu bilik” didactic poem by eastern poet Yusuf Balasaguni.
What’s more, documental film “Echo” about medieval city Saraichik was shown by “Kazakhstan-Atyrau” channel for attention of conference members.
There were a minister of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhameduly, akim of Atyrau region Nurlan Nogayev and conference members and the National museum visitors, in total 460 persons in the exhibition.
