On May 4, 2017, the Museum of History and Local History of the Atyrau region conductedan exhibition "Елімнің ерлік беттері " and a meeting with the descendants of G.F. Kantsev and the veterans of the rear area, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Hero of the Soviet Union Georgiy Fedorovich Kantsev.

The event was organized with the aim of educating the younger generation on the example of life and heroic deeds, manifested during the Great Patriotic War by G.F.Kantsev. The participants of the meeting paid tribute to the memory of those who had fallen by a minute of silence.      

The meeting was attended by a veteran of the rear area Parukh Nazhimedenovich Mardanov, granddaughter of Hero of the Soviet Union G.F. Kantsev Lyudmila Kantseva and students of K.Dutbayeva art college.

During the meeting, the attendees got acquainted with the exhibition on the theme "Ұрпаққа ұран болған – Ұлы Жеңіс", listened to memoirs of the Hero of the Soviet Union G.F. Kantsev.

P.N. Mardanov spoke about the difficulties and sufferings of the workers of the rear area during the Great Patriotic War, shared his memories of the life of the military and post-war years, instructed the youth to honorably continue the work of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers in peacetime.

At the end of the event, congratulations were goneontothe Victory Day, photographs were taken for memory.
